  • Log files and crash reports

2.3 Location Information

With your permission, we may collect approximate location data to match clients with nearby workers and improve service availability. We do not track precise location continuously.

  • Create and manage your Vebarua account
  • Match clients with suitable workers
  • Process payments and bookings
  • Send job notifications, confirmations, and updates

Vebarua does not store your full M-Pesa or financial credentials. We only store transaction references, payment status, and the phone number used for payment. Payments are processed through secure, authorized payment providers.

  • To resolve disputes or enforce agreements

You may request deletion of your account at any time (subject to legal requirements).

15. Data Deletion Requests

Vebarua respects your right to request deletion of your personal data in accordance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 and Google Play User Data policies.

15.1 How to Request Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your Vebarua account and associated personal data at any time by:

  • Sending an email to privacy@vebarua.com
  • Using the subject line: Data Deletion Request – Vebarua
  • Including the phone number or email address linked to your Vebarua account

For security purposes, we may request verification before processing your request.

15.2 What Data Will Be Deleted

Upon successful verification, we will delete or anonymize (where legally permissible):

  • Your account profile (name, photo, contact details)
  • Job history and booking records (where legally permissible)
  • Messages and in-app communication data
  • Location data associated with your account
  • Ratings and reviews linked to your identity

15.3 Data That May Be Retained

Some information may be retained where required by law or legitimate business purposes, including:

  • Payment transaction records (M-Pesa references, amounts, timestamps)
  • Records required for tax, audit, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution

Such retained data will be restricted, securely stored, and not used for marketing.

15.4 Processing Time

We will acknowledge your request within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law.

15.5 Effects of Deletion

Once your data is deleted:

  • Your Vebarua account will be permanently closed
  • You will no longer be able to access the app or its services
  • Any active bookings will be cancelled
  • This action cannot be undone

15.6 Alternative In-App Deletion (If Enabled)

If Vebarua provides an in-app account deletion feature, users may delete their account directly from app settings. In-app deletion has the same effect as an email request.
