FAQ
These questions explain how Vebarua works for domestic workers in Kenya. Vebarua helps you find nearby domestic work jobs, earn fairly, and work on your own terms.
1. What is Vebarua?
Vebarua is a job app for domestic workers. It connects you directly with clients who need cleaning, laundry, and house help work near where you live. You don’t need a broker or agent. Jobs come straight to your phone.
2. Who can join Vebarua?
You can join if you are 18 years and above, live in Kenya, have a working phone number, and can do domestic work honestly and reliably. Experience helps, but it is not required.
3. Do I have to pay to join Vebarua?
No. Registration is completely FREE. Vebarua does not charge you to sign up.
4. How do I get jobs on Vebarua?
After signing up, complete your profile and turn on availability. Clients near you send job requests. You accept the job, go to work, and get paid. No standing by the roadside and no middlemen.
5. How will I be paid?
Payment is done via M-Pesa or cash (if the client selects cash). Payment details are shown before you accept the job.
6. Does Vebarua take money from my pay?
Yes. Vebarua takes a small commission from each job to run the app, find you clients, and support you when problems arise. Your net pay is shown clearly before you accept any job.
7. How much can I earn?
Your earnings depend on your skills, availability, ratings, and how often you work. Many workers earn daily, weekly, or even full-time income through Vebarua.
8. Can I choose the jobs I want?
Yes. You choose which jobs to accept, which days to work, and how far you want to travel. You are never forced to take a job.
9. Can I work part-time or full-time?
Yes. You can work one day a week, weekends only, or full-time. You control your schedule.
10. What types of jobs are available?
Jobs include house cleaning, laundry (mama fua), one-day jobs, and long-term house help work.
11. What if a client mistreats me?
Your safety matters. If a client is abusive, changes payment unfairly, or makes you uncomfortable, report them in the app. Vebarua takes action and removes bad clients.
12. What if I need to cancel a job?
Cancel as early as possible if something serious comes up. Repeated cancellations without reason may reduce your rating.
13. What if the client cancels?
You are notified immediately. Your rating is not affected. Frequent client cancellations are monitored.
14. Do I need a smartphone?
Yes. Vebarua works on Android smartphones. You only need basic internet access and workers have to turn on location access.

Yes. A Kenyan National ID is required for verification. Your details are kept secure.
16. Can I use Vebarua if I already have an employer?
Yes. You can keep your current job and use Vebarua for extra income on free days.
17. What happens if I get bad ratings?
Ratings help clients choose workers. Be punctual, do quality work, and communicate politely. Vebarua can review disputes if needed.
18. Can I improve my chances of getting jobs?
Yes. Complete your profile fully, upload a clear photo, respond quickly, and maintain good ratings. A Certificate of Good Conduct is an added advantage.
19. Is Vebarua a cleaning company?
No. Vebarua is a technology platform. You are an independent worker, not an employee of Vebarua.
20. Is Vebarua available everywhere in Kenya?
